About
King (PDF map) offers inner Northeast amenities plus lower housing prices than many other adjacent communities, such as Irvington. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard shares the neighborhood’s namesake and provides the community with a vibrant, growing commercial district. The community has five parks, which offers great recreational opportunities for families and individuals alike. King is also ideally located between North and Northeast Portland’s major arts and entertainment districts, N Mississippi Ave. and NE Alberta St., respectively, both a quick walk, bike ride or drive away. The neighborhood shares with other inner Eastside communities the convenience of proximity to Downtown, while a short stroll through lovely Irving Park (pictured below) will bring you to NE Broadway and Lloyd Center, the city’s other major business district. Library
For the second year in a row, Multnomah County Library is ranked number two in Hennen's American Public Library Ratings (HAPLR), which rates U.S. public libraries serving populations over 500,000.
King is served by the Albina branch (3605 NE 15th Ave.) of the Multnomah County Library.
